Tourmaline is the most colourful mineral family on earth, and this bracelet leans into that. It comes two ways: multicolour tourmaline, where every 6 mm bead is a different shade so the strand runs through green, pink, blue and honey as it goes round, or pink rubellite, a single warm rose red throughout. Both are strung as stretch bracelets in size 7 and size 8, so there's a fit for most wrists, and custom lengths can be arranged with a note at checkout.
Why would one mineral produce so many colours? Because tourmaline isn't really one mineral but a family with a shared crystal structure and a famously accommodating chemistry. Trace elements slot into the same framework and change everything: manganese gives the pinks and reds you see in rubellite, iron tends toward green and blue, and a single crystal can shift composition as it grows, producing those celebrated stones that are pink at one end and green at the other. Every bead on a multicolour strand is chemically a slightly different stone.
A closer look
Tourmaline does something no other common gem does. Warm a crystal, or simply rub it, and it develops opposite electrical charges at its two ends, strongly enough to attract dust and ash. Dutch traders in the eighteenth century noticed this and nicknamed it the ash puller, using heated crystals to draw ash out of their pipes. The effect is real physics, called pyroelectricity, and it's why tourmaline still turns up in pressure sensors today. In crystal tradition, tourmaline is associated with protection, grounding and balance, while rubellite in particular is tied to the heart, to compassion and emotional repair.

Wearing your tourmaline bracelet
This is a durable everyday piece, sitting around 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, comfortably harder than most beaded bracelets you'll own. The stretch cord is the part that ages rather than the stones, so roll the bracelet on and off over your hand instead of stretching it wide, which is what eventually tires the elastic. Keep it off in chlorinated pools, put it on after lotion, and give it an occasional wipe. Expect natural variation between beads, since that's the whole character of the stone.
Please note: crystals are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Keep small pieces away from young children.
