Is the rainbow effect inside this crystal added or treated in any way? No, and that distinction matters. The colour comes from internal fractures within the quartz that split light the way a prism does, an entirely natural optical effect rather than any coating or dye. It is also worth correcting a common mislabel here, since Satyaloka quartz is often described as Himalayan when it is actually named for the Satyaloka monastery region in southern India, an entirely separate location and tradition. Mineralogically, Satyaloka quartz cannot be distinguished from ordinary clear quartz by any test, so its value rests on provenance and clarity rather than any unique physical property.
