A tall single Himalayan smoky quartz crystal standing over 10 inches, elegantly proportioned and remarkably slender for its height. The colour is a soft light smoke with very good clarity, and the top carries a cleanly formed pointed termination. Its elongated prismatic habit is classic alpine quartz, the shape that grows when a crystal has room and time to reach upward without interference.

Collectors often ask what makes an elongated crystal desirable rather than simply large. It's the completeness. A slender crystal has more surface exposed to whatever might have knocked or fractured it during formation and extraction, so an intact one this tall with a clean termination is a harder thing to find than the height alone suggests. Height is the asset here, so give it somewhere it can stand upright and be read against a plain background, a console table, a bookshelf, the end of a mantel.
