Several crystals show double termination, and one face carries a naturally etched surface, a texture formed by mineral dissolution during the crystal's own growth history rather than any damage.

What does an etched termination actually add to a specimen like this? It records a second chapter in the crystal's formation, a period where mineral rich solution partially dissolved part of the surface before growth resumed, leaving a distinctive textured face rather than a smooth one. Collectors read this as evidence of a more complex geological history, layered on top of the chlorite inclusions and multiple intergrown points already present. Chlorite quartz is traditionally associated with cleansing, grounding, and energetic renewal.

A closer look

This cluster formed in a Himalayan alpine fissure, where hydrothermal fluid circulating through rock fractures allowed quartz to crystallize alongside microscopic chlorite particles, trapping them within the growing structure and producing the soft green colouring visible throughout. A cluster of this scale, with multiple intergrown crystals and an etched termination intact, required an unusually long and stable period of undisturbed growth.
