Is Lemurian quartz a scientifically recognised category? Geologists would simply call this striated quartz, since "Lemurian" is a trade term rather than a mineralogical classification, tied to the modern metaphysical tradition of a lost continent called Lemuria. That does not make the crystal any less genuine as a mineral specimen, the striations themselves are entirely real, physical growth features you can feel with a fingertip, whatever name is attached to the stone carrying them. Lemurian Quartz is traditionally regarded as a master healer, used for chakra balancing and easing stress, anxiety, and fear.

The striations are growth lines, formed as the crystal alternated between faster and slower phases while crystallizing from silica rich fluid in a hydrothermal vein deep underground.
